The purpose Two luminaries of the medical world have written a short and powerful book. They propose remedies for the ills facing medicine, the French and Social Security. Concerned, among other things, about excessive financialization (on the part of pharmaceutical laboratories) and problematic commercialization (on the part of excess fees), they highlight an emphasis placed too much on accounting and less on health. They argue for revisiting certain freedoms in the medical world (freedom of implantation, prescription, implantation).
Against medical deserts, they want a local primary health care service. They aspire to have more tasks delegated to nurses and pharmacists. For emergencies, they demand the involvement of doctors in “continuous care”. In order to reform a system of payment by act, they want to develop capitation (a flat-rate remuneration).
The interest Their order is not consensual. Their plea in favor of “great social security” (by eliminating the complementary level of health insurance) will raise shields. What remains is a didactic statement, pouring strong recommendations into the debate.
