A ship-school of peace. The beautiful expiring, put in water from the diocese of Marseille with a crew of 200 young people from different Mediterranean countries, arrives on our coasts. Another 25 young people who arrived from Palestine, Armenia, Serbia, Algeria, Tunisia, Greece, Sweden, Spain, Egypt, Lebanon, Malta and Italy will rise to the Darsena of Ravenna. Ravenna represents the seventh stage of this pilgrimage that promotes meeting and comparison on the themes of dialogue.
The school ship, a 29 -meter -length trees of three trees will remain in Darsena until Monday 1st September in conjunction with a conference that takes place in the Dante room of the Classese Library. In the presence of the archbishop of Ravenna-Cervia, Monsignor Lorenzo Ghizzoni, of the Prefect, Raffaele Ricciardi and the mayor, Alessandro Barattoni, the group of boys who will go on the sailing ship with the crew accompanied by Don Alexis Leproux, episcopal vicar for relations with the Mediterranean of the diocese of Marseille, was presented.
On August 31st after the Mass in the Basilica of San Vitale, there will be the guided tour of the UNESCO monuments managed by the work of religion and, in the afternoon, the presentation of three Italian realities engaged in dialogue. Finally, in the evening, at the Sailing Circle a party organized in collaboration with the youth pastoral care, at the Sailing Club of Marina di Ravenna.
The beautiful Espair will leave Ravenna on September 1st, escorted by the firefighters’ boat and boats from the Sailing Club of Ravenna, after the greetings of the city.
After 8 months of navigation and 30 ports, the sailing ship will return to Marseille next October.
