In full tour with his latest show entitled Cactuscomedian and actor Élie Semoun made a promotional stop on RTL. Guest on Éric Dussart’s show, We’re doing TV againhe notably revealed a still unknown facet of his personality, linked to money.
Élie Semoun was going “very regularly” at the casino: the dealer ended up guessing his bets!
Dieudonné’s former accomplice admitted to having had the beginnings of an addiction to gambling. And, since it was out of the question for him to fall into this, the comedian, now 62 years old, preferred to stop the spiral before it degenerated… And he made a radical decision: to be banned from the casino!
“After a romantic breakup… But I must not be the only one to have experienced something like that, I needed to feel strong emotions and so I regularly went to the casino”. And the director of the films Ducobu to add: “I didn’t gamble for fortunes, but I went there very regularly”. Having become accustomed to slot machines and other gaming tables, Élie Semoun had even adopted little habits, such as constantly betting the same number, 16. And the dealer ended up guessing each of his bets…

It was a shock for the man who shares his life with Aude Fraineau, a woman thirty-four years his junior with whom he recently became a father for the second time. The main person concerned realized that he was “falling into something weird” and then “asked a friend who had himself been banned from the casino” advice. “I’ve been on the internet, and now I’m still banned from casinos”concluded Élie Semoun, not a little proud of having been able to put a stop to a potentially dangerous addiction. “I was right.”
And if Élie Semoun is banned from casinos in France, he nonetheless remains free to move abroad. A boon for those who are actively working on the next Ducobuscheduled for fall 2026. “From time to time, abroad, as I am banned from France, I go there. But every time I lose, so I tell myself that I did well to get banned.” he added.
