In a France where speeches on the work crisis often run in a loop, certain discreet areas are an exception. This is the case of this department which offers more positions than there are hands to provide them.
According to the study of the Jobleads platform, not all geographic areas go with the same chances on the job market. In Paris or Marseille, for example, tens of thousands of candidates apply for offers that are not enough to absorb the demand. The figures are sometimes freezing: in the North, more than 285,000 people would remain unemployed even if all the vacant posts were filled. In Reunion, between natural disasters and disaster market, it is an open tragedy. In these territories, the imbalance is glaring.
But there is another reality. Rural departments, often considered as withdrawal or second choice areas, display ratios that would make any DRH dream. Few job seekers, active economic fabric, controlled demography and concrete opportunities, in various sectors. The phenomenon is not a temporary anomaly, it is part of a broader trend: that of territories which attract less, but hire better.
According to Jan Hendrik von Ahlen, co -founder of Jobleads, this dynamic is a revealer. “France has experienced a transition period from the Pandemic of COVID-19. Teleworking and hybrid working methods have become generalized, modifying professional habits and expectations of employees.” Result: metropolitan areas, long perceived as the only foods of jobs, are caught up in the constraints of housing, transport, and ultra-accentuated competition. Meanwhile, some rural areas are doing well. Because they are less saturated. Because they offer another relationship to work. And because they also knew how to modernize their economy. And in this context, it is the Lozère which then manages to distinguish itself spectacularly.
The department concentrates less than 6,000 job seekers and displays a sufficient volume of offers for a majority of them to find takers. The local market is consistent, the needs are clear and the mobility facilitated. He is not dreaming on Instagram, of course, but he recruits.
