No less than 25,000 meetings in person or remotely in just six days. This is the least dense program of the “Retirement Meetings” organized by Agirc-Arrco, from Monday December 1 to Saturday December 6, 2025. The first edition of an event intended to allow advisors of the supplementary pension plan for employees in the private sector to go even further in their support for policyholders.
Some 400,000 interviews are offered each year by theAgirc-Arrcocompared to 850,000 annual retirements. With the “Retirement Meetings”, its general director, François-Xavier Selleret, intends to give employees the opportunity to plan concretely for the end of their working life. He therefore calls on them to update, as part of these meetings, all the career or personal situation elements that are missing from their file. Essential adjustments to make “an informed choice”according to the expert.
The advice offered by the Agirc-Arrco scheme is already very extensive. Why create “Retirement Meetings”?
François-Xavier Selleret: We indeed launched the “Retirement Meetings” in 2016 (where 50 000 free interviews are offered over a week, Editor’s note). The objective was then to reach out to policyholders to better inform them. This event was then extended to the National Old Age Insurance Fund, Cnav. Since then, the offer has been even more structured and developed in the Agirc-Arrco regime since we now offer 400,000 appointments each year. Not to mention, in parallel, the deployment of digital tools such as the M@rel simulator to estimate the amount of his future pension from the site info-retraite.frhis personal space from the site agirc-arrco.fr (which gives access to their updated personal situation, their career record, etc.) as well as the My retirement account mobile application.
The idea of “Retirement Meetings” is to offer a complementary service. This is less information and advice than an update of the insured’s personal situation. Our message is: “Come see us to update your personal information.» This may relate to elements of your career or your number of children.
Every year, many people request to liquidate their retirement with an incomplete file. How to fix this problem?
The “Retirement Meetings” aim precisely to help these policyholders. Of the 25,000 appointments offered from December 1 to 6, more than half were requested at our initiative. For these audiences, our observation is the following: “We have elements that question us in your journey.” We therefore invite them to come to one of the 600 Agirc-Arrco reception centers – in a Retirement Advice Agency or in a town hall office or in a sub-prefecture -, or to speak by videoconference or by telephone with our advisors to take stock of their file. This proactive approach by Agirc-Arrco is intended to develop over time. Gradually, we want the proportion of meetings initiated by us to increase.
Are you targeting a particular category of workers?
This event is open to all audiences, although we are aware that at 15 or 20 years from retirement, you are less interested in your retirement than at 57. We are convinced that we need to talk about retirement at the right time, when the subject becomes more relevant.
But it is true that this year, we decided to focus on job seekers as well as employees of private employers, who have specific problems.
Why are you particularly interested in these audiences?
We want to allow everyone to be an actor in their future retirement to be able to make an informed choice for the future. And it is sometimes more difficult for these policyholders. When you are an employee of private employers, you can work for four, five, six or even seven different people in the same week. With this diversity of employers, it is essential to ensure that you have identified everything in your retirement space. Recording this information carefully also allows you to plan ahead and prepare for the last part of your working life, such as activating the cumulative employment retirement. A third of Agirc-Arrco policyholders with combined employment and retirement are employees of private employers.
As for job seekers, they face comparable problems. Sometimes, they do not know that during their periods of compensated unemployment, they acquire the same retirement rights as when they work. Some job seekers are perfectly comfortable on these subjects, others much less so.
