Despite its 600,000 annual visitors, this emblematic Parisian tourist site accumulates negative opinions. And no, it’s not the Eiffel Tower!

The Moulin Rouge requested a right of reply in order to deny the result of the investigation Solitary.
“This ‘study’ which is not one, completely far-fetched, was carried out and published on the blog of an online games company which in our opinion seeks to create SEO and buzz. The elements taken into account in their survey do not reflect reality and distort the result. The Moulin Rouge has good ratings on Trip Advisor (4 out of 5) and on Google (4.3 out of 5). years, displays economic health exceptional with 600,000 customers per year and a turnover which increases every year.
First publication:
Although it has enjoyed an international aura for years, this unmissable and renowned French tourist destination continues to disappoint a good number of its visitors… A study carried out by the online portal Solitaired.com analyzed nearly 66.7 million Google reviews reported at 3,290 tourist sites. A titanic task having covered 384 cities in 71 countries, in search of the most boring places!
For this vast survey which says a lot about the tastes and colors of tourists around the world, Solitary then focused on keywords related to boredom, appearing in visitor comments. And if preferences and expectations vary depending on each person, the results of this study still reveal a striking trend.
Of the 100 most boring “attractions” in the world, 14 are in Europe. And, surprise, France is represented in this ranking with an emblematic site which is neither the Eiffel Tower, nor the Louvre museum nor the Arc de Triomphe… “Foul meals”, “packed like sardines”, “we left before the end”... Passing spectators do not mince their words, illustrating the decline of this iconic establishment, founded in 1889. Although renowned for its festive and glamorous atmosphere, this Parisian site is far too expensive according to its customers, with an atmosphere that is too formatted, far from the fanciful and magical image it conveys.
Indeed, by crossing the doors of the mythical Moulin Rougelocated in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, tourists generally prepare for an unforgettable evening, full of surprises, but ultimately leave frustrated, even pissed off. Between the quality of the show offered, the meals served and the comfort of the facilities, some are crying scandal while others even go so far as to speak of a shame for France.
While its grandiose revues and its legendary facade amazed thousands of tourists a few years ago, the famous cabaret of the Moulin Rouge would clearly no longer be unanimous among visitors passing through the capital. It’s better to be warned before spending hundreds of euros.
