The thirteenth edition of the Michele Giordano Prize who honored ours Annachiara Vallethanks to his book Mafias and church Edit RCS. To preside over the event was the archbishop of the Campania capital, the Cardinal Domenico Battaglia. Annachiara’s work was at the center of the reflections of the archbishop, who praised the study for his ability to deepen and wanted to underline the need for a clear detachment of the ecclesiastical institutions from the “structures of sin that damages the entire body of Christ”. His eminence has highlighted how the volume of the journalist, who ideally completes his previous production “Organized saint”also deal with the theme, more and more current, of women’s mafias.
The Vaticanist of Christian family It contributes to tracing the way to defeat this evil that corrodes the soul, a path that takes place through the joint commitment of all against crime. “Women of honor plead and sometimes they are the first to organize the crime,” recalled the purple. The analysis within the book focuses on the responsibilities and needs of vigilance, aligning itself with the historical warning of John Paul II to Agrigento: “Convert you! Once the judgment of God will come!”.
His writing is an invitation to the clergy to honor figures such as Don Pino Puglisi and Don Peppe Diana, “eloquent sign of those who are not there with the mafia” and have fought to “make the dilut consciences wake up not only of civil society, but also and above all of the Church”.
The first prize was won by the Central Capoder of Rai Uno Mario Prignano, with his book Antipopes Edit Laterza, while third place went to the Vaticanist of Tg2 Enzo Romeo with walking together published.
