It stimulates the scalp and promotes regrowth.
Have you also noticed significant hair loss in recent days? Rest assured, autumn is a time when hair loss is likely. This natural phenomenon affects both men and women but remains problematic. We can lose 300 to 400 hairs per day in autumn, compared to 50 to 100 the rest of the year. This loss can be accentuated by the aggressions experienced by the scalp during the summer, due to the sun, sea water, wind and chlorine. The change of seasons conducive to changes in light and climate also affects the production of vitamin D and hair by causing hair loss. But don’t panic, to remedy this, our naturopath has his tip.
To prevent hair loss, you need to: “stimulate growth at bulb level”explains Helene Comlan, naturopath. Her secret lies in the use of a little-known toning essential oil. It is “effective on men and women” and awakens the blood system of the scalp. This essential oil is ginger. Ginger has a powerful active ingredient that relaxes blood vessels and increases their flow. “It stimulates circulation in general, which also stimulates circulation in the scalp, at the bulb level, prevents hair loss and strengthens growth.”
To make the most of ginger essential oil, the naturopath recommends diluting it in vegetable oil, ideally castor oil, and applying it to the scalp. Castor oil is particularly known for its antioxidants that strengthen hair keratin. Its ricinoleic acid also acts as an antibacterial and antifungal agent, ideal for preventing infections or mycoses of the scalp. Hélène Comlan recommends massaging the scalp firmly with this mixture, pressing with your fingertips and making circular movements. “The skin of the scalp is like the rest of the body, it must be stimulated. For the body, we can do scrubs, and for the scalp we can massage to stimulate the sweat sebaceous glands” she specifies. Be careful, however, not to rub or scratch your scalp either.
Autumn hair loss is a phenomenon that generally does not last more than 3 months. The naturopath therefore recommends using ginger essential oil as a treatment, between 1 and 3 months.
