Guest on the show “C l’hebdo”, Maïtena Biraben opened up about the way she sees herself and talked about her own perception of beauty.
After making her mark on the small screen, Maïtena Biraben is now investing in new projects that reflect her commitment to women. For example, she launched Ladiesa feminist online media outlet, and published The invisible woman owhere it overturns the injunctions linked to middle age. Enough to advocate a vision of the woman who is free and comfortable in her own skin… But this positive state of mind was not always hers, as she confided during her appearance on the show C the weekly on France 5.
It took more than half a century for Maïtena Biraben to appreciate her physique. In any case, that’s what she admitted to Aurélie Casse’s microphone last June. When the question of beauty is put on the table, the former host of Grand Journal assures without blinking”I’m at the age where I finally think I’m pretty“. And added: “When I see myself I say to myself: honestly, you’re good“.
If she may have had complexes in the past, those times seem to be over for Maïtena Biraben. “There’s a long period, I think it’s true for a number of women, where you see yourself and you recognize your mother and it’s very, very painful.” she clarified. Today, the fifty-year-old combines beauty and inner serenity: “I think that beauty is when we feel good inside, when we are calm, when we know ourselves better“. According to his vision, true beauty is not measured by physical criteria alone but by the peace that one experiences within oneself.
This is reflected on the exterior and gives its presence a singular softness. “It is still a great moment of beauty in oneself and of physical beauty as well.” she concludes, proving that beauty after 50 lies as much in self-acceptance as in appearance.
