Olivier Minne, “unkempt” in the United States: his “quiet life” outside France
The one who is now the presenter of the Weak Link does not regret this impulse which pushed him to settle in the United States at the age of 35, even though he had never set foot there before. “Los Angeles is for me a land of rebirth. When I got there, I wasn’t doing anything on television anymore. I didn’t even know what I was going to do with my life. I was 35, and everything seemed to be ruined (…) I needed this. I needed to find myself in a neutral place where there was no trace of anything relating to any past.”he explained.
Today, this land which saw him reborn is a place where he recharges his batteries when he feels the need: “In Los Angeles, I also make an appointment with myself every time. I live the life of a middle class American person“In the City of Angels, Olivier Minne can notably enjoy an anonymity which calms him. “I think what changes compared to France is that I pay less attention to myself when I go to the supermarket since I don’t have anyone who, with their phone, will start trying to take a video in the fresh produce section. I’m mostly in shorts, a little disheveled… But I have a quiet life there and I spend my time writing“, he detailed.
Olivier Minne: this other very “important” European city for him
But Los Angeles is not the only city where Olivier Minne feels fulfilled outside of France. Born in Ixelles, Belgium, the host is particularly attached to Brussels. “It’s important! This is where my family resides and I keep this city in my heart“, he assured.
The presenter of the new M6 show, Pandoraalso has roots in England: “My grandparents were British. I was used to traveling to London, England throughout my childhood, adolescence, and even adulthood. There has always been an Anglo-Saxon environment around me“.
