Guarantee quality, fair and inclusive education for all: with this idea, borrowed from the UN 2030 Agenda for sustainable development, Banco Bpm launched the School Project in 2018, which includes interventions to support schools throughout the national territory. The intent? Support the creation of small works that can however have a large impact, such as the increase in school supplies and digital connections, the increase in protective devices and the modernization of common spaces. For the benefit of the students, but also of the teachers, who can thus work in a welcoming environment.
The numbers confirm the spread of the initiative: 300 interventions, 1,200 public institutes involved, of which 300 in 2024 alone. In addition to the School Project, Banco Bpm carries out other projects on the topic of education such as “Che Classe!” and “@Scuola2030” for school-work alternation, organized in collaboration with local newspapers in the territories. Again to enhance the school-work connection, the Key People and Talents structure was established in 2021 with the aim of attracting, enhancing and retaining talent within the Group. These are customized development programs and partnerships with universities.
And since the transition to the world of work is a delicate transition, Bpm also supported young students in orientation to the world of work, making the skills of the Group’s corporate professionals available to the young people. And there is no shortage of internships, aimed at young university students and recent graduates hosted during the year with the aim of experiencing the knowledge acquired during their studies. Furthermore, to support students, scholarships have been provided for research doctorates and training on economic, legal, financial and managerial topics for those attending universities and high schools in particular.
To combat school dropouts, however, the “School 4 Life” project was also launched in 2023.”, aimed at middle and high school students in high-risk areas. The activity involved a total of 16 hours of training dedicated to middle schools and 160 to high schools. All the initiatives organized were also a channel for the search and hiring of new talents entering the world of work for the first time.
