The challenge for an increasingly ecological and Green world adds another small, but significant, piece: the new educational laboratory created by the Education & Crei staff – Research Center for informal education of the National Museum Science and Technology Leonardo Da Vinci in Milan, thanks to the partnership with Bolton For Education Foundation. The idea was born in a complex historical context due to climate change, energy crises and social inequalities. To combat these phenomena, the museum focuses on an educational experience that puts systemic thought at the center.
Thanks to the new space made, it will be possible for everyone to understand how much each of our actions count, and to do so it will be tested and we will interact with each other. It is a path that provides the tools to read the complexity of the world and develop the key skills for the contemporaneity. No more lessons that, especially for the little ones, could be boring and repeated, phrases that we all know already (but that never hurts to remember). Now the theme is addressed by experimentingthanks to the imaginative and brilliant mind of Enrico Miotto who created the whole pole. Just the senior education curator of the museum explains that “what we want is that people, students and visitors also bring home the idea that to reason on one thing, the first attention is to understand what the network is, what is the system in which that action is immersed”. “
Marina Nissimpresident of Bolton, confirms it: «What is important is to be able to talk about sustainability in an experiential way about our daily customs. It is a practical question. Often, for environmental durability, great words are used, and the public, children, families never understand what it is. It seems to me that with this research center you try to make it clear that safeguard is a method of behavior of our daily lives ». The laboratory will be permanent, thus expanding the already rich offer of the museum.
