It may be virtual, he does many envious. In 2024, the “queen” of cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin, ended at the top of the best investments of the year in terms of performance, with an increase in its course of 130%. An investor who bought a bitcoin around 40,000 euros on January 1, 2024 could have resells it, with a good added value, at a price of 91,000 euros at the very end of the year. On January 22, following the inauguration of Donald Trump, this digital asset even reached a value of 100,000 euros.
And the flight may not stop there, since according to some specialists, Bitcoin would be able to reach a price of $ 220,000 (around 210,000 euros) this year. Figures that turn the head, and above all seem to exclude a large number of savers: how to acquire a bitcoin without having at least 92,000 euros, that is to say its current course?
It is possible to acquire only 0.00000001 Bitcoin
In reality, “Bitcoin, like all cryptocurrencies, are fractional assets, which can therefore find their place in all wallets”Recalls Alexis Boeglin, crypto expert of the crypcool broker. The BTC (Bitcoin Stock Exchange Code) is for example divisible up to 8 digits after the point. This smaller bitcoin fraction that can be obtained is called “Satoshi”, named after its creator (Satoshi Nakamoto). Bitcoin can therefore be divided into 100,000,000 Satoshis.

Thus, instead of buying a “whole” bitcoin at 92,000 euros, any saver can theoretically acquire at least a Satoshi worth 0.00092,412 Euro. Admittedly, not all platforms offer such a level of fractionation, “But buying a Bitcoin fraction for a few euros is achievable almost everywhere”underlines Alexis Boeglin. On savings or trading applications such as REPUBLIC, SUMERIA or Revolut trade, 1 or 2 euros are enough to start investing. On the other hand, it will be necessary to pay a little more on specialized platforms like Binance (15 euros), Coinhouse (20 euros) or Coinbase (25 euros).
A good strategy for beginner investors
In addition to being thus accessible to all budgets, investing small amounts also has other advantages. First of all, “Placing small sums regularly makes it possible to smooth over time the great volatility of this asset, and therefore to reduce the risk”explains Alexis Boeglin. In the event of the price of the course, we are indeed less exposed when we have multiplied the “entry points”, rather than having invested everything in one go.
In addition, starting with small amounts allows you to familiarize yourself with the volatility of this asset, the course of which can vary strongly from day to day. For a beginner investor, first losing a few dozen cents or euros makes it possible to gauge your ability to endure potential roller coaster, before embarking on a more substantial investment.
