The denim jacket is back in force this spring. A new arrival for less than 40 euros could well become the essential piece of the season.
With the capricious weather of spring, between cool mornings and sunny afternoons, it’s difficult to get dressed without adding layers. The solution? A lightweight jacket, easy to put on and stylish enough to effortlessly upgrade any outfit. Good news: some pieces check all the boxes without blowing the budget.
Halfway between timeless and trendy, the denim jacket is back in force this season. It must be said that it has never really left the front of the stage: all the stars adopt it, from Hollywood actresses to the most followed singers, including even crowned heads, seen in jean jackets during less formal outings. Revisited in modern cuts that flatter all silhouettes, it stands out as the perfect everyday ally, capable of transforming a basic look into a sharp outfit in the blink of an eye.
Among the new products that caught our attention this season, the raw denim jacket by Célio Women launched last March at the Forum des Halles shopping center, with the brand’s brand new women’s line, deserves our attention. The bet is audacious: Célio, a pillar of the men’s wardrobe for decades, is venturing for the first time into the field of women’s ready-to-wear, an already ultra-competitive market where giants like Zara, Mango and H&M have mastered the subject for a long time. It remains to be seen whether the brand will be able to find a real place there.
First observation: the jacket is well cut, with a clean and modern line that adapts to different styles. Available from XS to It is precisely this mix between simplicity and efficiency that appeals. However, we regret that the choice is still limited: for the moment, the piece only exists in a raw denim version. We would have liked to find it in faded denim or black, variations which would have broadened the styling possibilities.
Price-wise, it remains very accessible at 39.99 euros. On social networks, the first feedback is rather encouraging. Customers particularly praise its flattering cut and its ease of integration into a seasonal wardrobe. However, there is still a lack of hindsight to judge how it holds up over time after several washes. Given that this is a very first women’s collection for the brand, we can however fear a rapid out of stock: it is better not to delay too long if the piece catches your eye.
If you already own a denim jacket, but it’s starting to show signs of wear, it might be time to consider a more current version. Because beyond trends, denim remains a sure value that crosses the seasons without ever going out of style.
