This Monday, September 2, Maxima of the Netherlands appeared with a hair makeover that deserves to be applauded. Photo in support.
It’s back to school for the Dutch royal family too! As honorary chairwoman of the Mind Us programme, Maxima of the Netherlands visited the Door het Geluid foundation in Leiden to discuss mental health with students. For the occasion, the Queen Consort, clad in a turquoise suit, opted for an elegant hairstyle.
Maxima of the Netherlands’ Low Bun
Maxima of the Netherlands is a veritable fountain of beauty inspiration. While she has fine, short hair, the wife of King Willem-Alexander has achieved a small bun, neither too high nor too lowin order to have the maximum possible mass. She also opted for a side separation on the side of her hair, rather than on the front, in order to give herself more volume and density. Not to mention her balayage, with large blonde strands, which gives depth. A hair look that freed her perfectly made-up face as well as her head posture to give her even more allure.
How to make a bun on short, fine hair?
It may be simple, but Maxima from the Netherlands’ bun can save a mane that’s lacking in hair density. Here’s how to recreate it step by step.
First, make a side parting with a comb. Then add texture to the whole thing with a texturizing spray. This way, elastics and other clips won’t slip out of the hairstyle. Lift the roots using a classic hair dryer before lightly backcombing them to maximize volume. Then, once the hair is rolled up on itself, add clips to form a bun. Finish with a veil of hairspray for long-lasting hold and you’re done!
