I am a 92 year old teacher and I wonder: what happened to the teaching directors and principals who monitored the teachers’ work taking into account the programs? Twenty-five years ago he was born the fashion of crosses and true/false. No questions, no homework: this is how the dyslexics hey dyscalculic. The youth of this time are no dumber than those of years past.

I have some doubts that the cause of learning disorders – dyslexia, dysorthographia and dyscalculia – are due to the change in teaching methods. Once upon a time, those who suffered from it, without perhaps being able to give a name to that disorder, weren’t they perhaps considered “dumb” full stop?
Law 170/2010 recognized them as specific disorders and in recent years the diagnoses have doubled (the national average is 5%), also thanks to the improvement of diagnostic techniques.
Faced with hyper-mediatized children, thrown in front of a screen while still young and traumatized by Covid, we need to resort to innovative learning techniques. A complex world requires complex strategies.
