Loana died at the age of 48. The winner of the show Loft Story had had poor health for several years.
Winner of the show “Loft Story” in 2001 on M6, Loana Petrucciani was found dead at her home in Nice on March 25, 2026. She was 48 years old. His death was announced by Paris Match. The causes of his death have not been revealed at this time. Loana had fragile health, marked by psychiatric disorders which she spoke about publicly.
In 2021, on the set of the show “Touche pas à mon poste”, Loana revealed that she suffered from bipolarity. “I’m bipolar, so when they don’t give me my medication, I’m depressed. I don’t realize what’s going on around me.” An illness from which she already suffered during the filming of The Loft: “Bipolarity is an illness that we have always had. So of course I had it. It was less significant. It was accentuated by the fact that I had these addictions.”
In 2018, Loana spoke about her drug use in her second autobiography “So hard is the night, so tender is life”: “Cocaine is a terrifying drug because, as soon as I use it, I feel like the queen of the world. With the delicious feeling of having never felt so good in my life, in my body, I get high, I am euphoric.” In 2017, the young woman also confided her addiction to alcohol, even though she was on antidepressants: “I drank a liter of whiskey a day” she told Nice-Matin.
For Loana, her addictions were linked to her unhappiness and her bipolar disorder. In 2022, in the Virgin Radio show “Morning without filter”, she explained that she could not have “fixed job” because of his illness. “I’m bipolar with schizophrenic tendencies. I’m really ill and I’m considered disabled.” Bipolar disorder is a psychiatric illness that takes a long time to diagnose and is characterized by chronic mood disorders. The patient alternates between phases of mood expansion with an increase in energy and activities (mania or hypomania), and phases of depression.
“Bipolar disorder is one of the most severe psychiatric pathologies, recalls the High Authority of Health. It most frequently leads to suicide attempts.” The suicidal risk of bipolar people is fifteen times higher than in the rest of the population. According to studies, 25 to 60% of bipolar patients will attempt suicide at least once in their life. Among these patients, 4% to 19% of patients will die.
