60 million consumers tested ten different baby diaper references. Price, absorption, toxicity… Here is the product which obtained the best rating.
When it comes to baby care, parents become particularly demanding consumers. And this, much more than with themselves. Much more careful about the composition and effectiveness of products for their children, young parents can find themselves lost in the mass of references offered by supermarkets. Dozens of brands jostle on the shelves, each with arguments more convincing than the last: greater quality, “made in France” manufacturing, endless labels… But how do you really choose the best item for your child?
In its November issue, 60 million consumers looked at an essential question for all young parents: what is the best baby diaper on the market? With an average of 4,000 diapers in a toddler’s life, before achieving cleanliness, the choice of product should not be neglected. Price, presence of contaminants, absorption capacity (day and night), protection against humidity, adhesive strength, comfort, breathability… Our colleagues studied ten different models.
And it is the Biolane diapers, present for the first time in this ranking, which get the best score with a nice 16.5/20. The brand is therefore placed ahead of Joone (15.9/20), “Pure Nature” by Love & Green (15.7/20), Mots d’enfants by E.Leclerc (15.7/20), Lupilu by Lidl (15.5/20), Tidoo (15.3/20), “Premium Protection” (15.2/20) and “Baby-Dry” (14.8/20) by Pampers, Pommette from Intermarché (14.6/20), and finally “Green” from Tamboor (13.9/20). Although less labeled than the others on the test bench, the Biolane diaper is the one “which combines absorption and protection against humidity in the most efficient way”. At an average price of 0.39 euros per diaper – according to distributors – it is not the most expensive in the ranking, which ranges from 0.14 euros to 0.53 euros per unit. But in addition to the direct performances, our colleagues have also studied the composition of each product. From a health and ecological point of view, the presence of toxic substances is a real concern for parents.
Biolane thus indicates “100% natural origin materials“, at least “in contact with the skin”that is to say on the interior face of the layer. But if the brand’s products actually contain controversial substances, namely “traces of heavy metals”these are however minimal enough to be considered without danger to health. Moreover, among all the brands tested by 60 million consumersthese toxic residues are present in tiny quantities: not enough to cause problems for infants. The magazine also highlights that the quality of products has improved significantly in recent years, proof that manufacturers take into account the essential criteria in the eyes of consumers: safety, comfort and efficiency.
