Did you think Dyson was one of the best brands for a vacuum cleaner? It is not the verdict of the 60 million consumers’ survey.
Dyson vacuum cleaners are often synonymous with desire objects when talking about small household appliances. With impeccable design and advanced technologies, the brand is good! However, a survey of 60 million consumers does not place the British brand in its top of the most reliable brands. The media conducted a new study with 5,000 consumers to assess the reliability of household appliances from different brands. First observation: vacuum cleaners are particularly affected by a general drop in reliability with a loss of eight points compared to the previous study. And another bad news, when a breakdown occurs after the warranty period, it is often necessary to throw the device in the trash, because the price of repairs is then high and sometimes represents more than 50% of that of new equipment. In light of this information, it is therefore better to choose a reliable device, with a lowest possible failure rate.
According to the survey, Dyson vacuum cleaners obtain a 70.7% reliability score while other brands in the sector are much more efficient on this point. For a device with a lower risk of failure, the magazine points to a German brand founded in 1884 which belongs today to the French group SEB. With an exemplary reliability score of 94.6%, Rowenta won the palm. It is followed by another German brand, Miele, created in 1899. These two brands concentrate their efforts on sustainability and performance in order to offer quality devices and their reputation is well established.
And Cocorico, the Rowenta brand has a production site located in Vernon in Normandy, where part of the brand’s vacuums and other products are manufactured. Some models are therefore claimed Made in France, like X-ô, the most silent wireless vacuum cleaner. A choice that allows better quality control, but also a more controlled carbon footprint.
