Eyes again!
Unsurprisingly, “eyes” are also a hit when it comes to leaf DIY. You can paint them yourself, or use stickers, there are these wiggly eyes in different sizes, or you can also paint the eyes on the roll of Wlkmndys (more for larger sheets) and then add a few hairs and funny animals are created. Or you can use pompoms, etc. This creates a wide variety of funny characters. How cute are the “Bremen Town Musicians”? There are many more ideas here (it’s in Russian, but the pictures speak for themselves!)
…or animals made from leaves
Creative sophisticates make whole animals out of the leaves and stick them on paper. You can of course “continue painting” these or embellish them with eyes again. I think the moose and the hedgehog are particularly cute, but they’re all great!
Hedgehog and owl
A classic on Pinterest is also the hedgehog with spikes made of leaves (I found the picture and one of many instructions here), and it is very easy to make, all you need is construction paper and glue. The owls are cute too, right? For this you also need construction paper, glue and a beer mat! (And eyes again. You notice: buy eyes ;)). You can find the whole craft idea here.
Or paint leaves…
Another classic is “painting leaves”. We always use watercolor or finger paint. If you want to make prints, you have to be careful not to use too much paint. It’s particularly nice if you can then trace the leaves or create additional works of art from the leaf patterns. You can find a very successful guide here at I need Sunshine. Otherwise you can of course also paint the leaves with beautiful patterns! And then, for example, use some yarn to conjure up a small garland.
