This famous singer revealed a relatively little-known side of France Gall’s personality. And the picture is not entirely rosy…
Invited on the set of Buzz TVa show presented by Sarah Lecoeuvre and Damien Canivez on November 18, singer Fabienne Thibeault was, once again, not talking in her pocket. While she has just revealed her book, The Survivorreleased on November 7 by L’Archipel editions, the former star of Starmania agreed to return on set to the great moments of his life. Starting with those shared with the troupe of the flagship show which is celebrating its 45th anniversary this year…
France Gall, close to his money? “She sent her secretary…”
The 72-year-old Quebecer therefore recounted the great time when she lived in a shared apartment with the star couple of the time – Michel Berger and France Gall -, in their apartment located Villa Beauséjour in the very chic 16th arrondissement of Paris. And although the lovebirds were immense artists, they nonetheless remained two human beings, with their qualities and their little faults. Thus, according to Fabienne Thibeault, France Gall was somewhat stingy…
“France Gall was a little stingy, but hey, I understand her. I’m not a spendthrift, but I don’t think about money”declared the great Marie-Jeanne on set. A penny-pinching side that has never shocked the singer: “She sent her secretary to buy a Camembert a kilometer and a half away on foot because it was a few cents cheaper! But hey, that’s good, why not… And on stage, she was fantastic, she sang well, that’s it. was beautiful”.
Fabienne Thibeault, without filter: “She’s not the person I got along best with”
This is not the first time that Fabienne Thibeault has spoken out about her former partner. Already last January, on the set of Jordan de Luxe, she had not been gentle. “We didn’t hang out with France Gall”she conceded. Before concluding diplomatically: “We didn’t have the same way of seeing life and things (…) Sometimes, France was a little directive (…) Like ‘no one has the right to smoke’… It was unnatural.”
And to conclude: “Let’s just say he’s not the person I got along best with. It doesn’t matter, we don’t have to get along well with everyone. I think our differences are more cultural.”.
