Jordan is lucky enough to concentrate on a small territory a quantity of natural, cultural and artistic treasures of priceless value. Just think of Petra’s wonders, the charm of Wadi Rum, the suggestive Dead Sea and the magnificence of Jerash (the ancient Gerasa of the Romans). But Jordan has also been the cradle of Christianity and hosts five pilgrimage sites recognized by the Vatican: Tel Mar Elias, the birthplace of the prophet Elia. The exhibition “Jordan: dawn of Christianity” / “Jordan: Dawn of Christianity” is dedicated to the Christian inheritance of the Middle Eastern country. Organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities of Jordan in collaboration with the Vatican, at the Palazzo della Cancelleria in Rome. The exhibition will be inaugurated on Friday 31 January in the presence of the Tourism Minister Edelle Antiquity of the Kingdom Hashemita of Jordan, Lina Annab and will be open to the public with free admission by reservation until February 28, 2025.
