The BTS exams for the 2025 session are identical to last year, except that the General Culture and Expression (CGE) test goes from 4 hours to 3 hours. For candidates, passing these exams is crucial to obtaining their diploma after two years of training. As a reminder, there are more than 100 BTS specialties, in the fields of production or services. What is BTS?
The BTS (higher technician certificate) is a professional diploma who prepares through continuous assessment during training (CCF) and through exams. The BTS continues within a high school, and this training, accessible after obtaining the baccalaureate or equivalent, offers specialized teaching. The BTS also includes a compulsory internship in a company and allows you to obtain a professional diploma in two years.

The timetable for the common written tests for the different BTS was made public by the Ministry of Education on October 11, 2024. This year, the first test will take place on Thursday May 15, 2025. Here in detail the dates of the common BTS tests for the 2025 session :

- General culture and expression (written, duration 3 hours): Thursday May 15, 2025
- Mathematics photonic systems (duration 3 hours): Friday May 16, 2025

Regarding the specialty tests, the dates are generally transmitted by each academy during the first quarter of 2025.
How do the BTS catch-up sessions go?
All candidates having obtained at least 10 out of 20 in the professional field as well as an average of between 8 and 10 in the general field are automatically authorized to take the make-up tests, with two oral tests:
- a question to reassess the candidate’s skills in general culture and expression, modern foreign language, mathematics, physics-chemistry, applied sciences, etc. The student will have to choose the discipline in which he wishes to be interviewed among the disciplines with the highest coefficient of his specialty.
- a question allowing you to reassess skills of the candidate in the professional field.
For each question, the score obtained may replace the average of the tests of all the specific tests in the corresponding field (general and professional).
When will the BTS results be published?
THE BTS results dates are generally viewable by candidates between the end of June and the beginning of July. The exact date is not yet known. Furthermore, you should know that not all results are communicated on the same day from one academy to another and depending on the specialties chosen.
