Lou Doillon is a spoiled woman, lucky enough to own a house in the heart of Paris and another in the countryside. Jane Birkin’s daughter leads two very different lives there.
At 42, Lou Doillon leads an existence punctuated by her life as an artist and that of a mother, she who has two children (Marlowe, 22 years old and Laszlo, 2 years old). She divides her daily life between the capital and the countryside. And, when she is green, she lives in an ultra eco-friendly way.

Asked by Madame Figaro on the sidelines of the twin-set that she imagined for Galeries Lafayette, Lou Doillon was questioned about her most recent eco-friendly gesture. The opportunity for her to share some confidences about the way she lives. “I live partly in the countryside, where I have a compost, a vegetable garden, a rainwater reserve and photovoltaic panels. I try to leave as little footprint as possible, because it’s the least I can do to recycle, to no longer buy plastic bottles… To make ordinary efforts, in short“, she told the magazine.
If we know that Lou Doillon liked to regularly go to Lannilis, in Brittany, where her late mother Jane Birkin owned a manor, she does not specify where her own country house is located. Lou Doillon, who is also preparing a musical show for Bouffes du Nord, assures that his eldest son “is attentive“to the ecological question and that makes it”proud“.

Charlotte Gainsbourg’s sister also has the immense fortune of living in a house in the capital. Questioned by France Culture, in 2020, she then spoke of her house “at the bottom of a small courtyard at the back of the 11th arrondissement” from Paris, where she spent her confinement and which she presents as a landmark, a cave.
“I love the 11th arrondissement, I have lived there for around twenty years near the Aligre market, my favorite in Paris. I like to leave home and cut Paris in two, following the quays to Place de la Concorde. Left bank or right bank, it depends on the mood of the city. There is a dynamism in the 11th which is very unique. A diversity around the pleasure of life, food, music, crafts and drinking“, she said to mint.
