From 9 All‘11 May, on the occasion of Milan Civil Week, Casa Jannacci opens to the city with three free days of workshops, meetings and performances. A‘opportunity to enter one of the symbolic places of‘Milanese welcome and discover up close stories, faces and initiatives that speak of solidarity and rebirth.
Located in viale Ortles 69, the house of‘Welcome “Enzo Jannacci ”hosts up to 550 people every day, between adults alone and families in conditions of serious difficulty. It is a living place, where the‘welcome translates into paths of kinglusion and activities open also to the neighborhood. Managed by Medihospes and the Arca Progetto Foundation, together with seven other associations (water environment, cums, care and rehabilitation, Mirasole Project Foundation, International Rescue Committee, Kayros and Naturalia), Casa Jannacci is named after an artist who made proximity to the last one a choice of life and art: Enzo Jannacci.
A house that welcomes, a neighborhood that opens
“Casa Jannacci is one of the most significant spaces of the Milanese reception system – explains Lamberto Bertolé, councilor for welfare of the Municipality of Milan – a place of restart built on‘Idea that all and all, if accompanied in a path of reinclusion, can get out of a condition of marginality. The house also wants to be a point of reference for the neighborhood, open to those who live the city, because there‘Inclusion begins precisely from the overcoming of the barriers that we often raise for fear of what we do not know. We hope that these three days can encourage a real meeting between people and offer guests of the structure a‘occasion of redemption “.
A program to meet and get to know each other
The days of Friday 9 and Saturday 10 May will be dedicated to workshops for adults and children: you can cook, sew, dance Thai dance or try your hand at carpentry. The activities take place at‘interior of the common spaces and the day center. All appointments are free, in some cases with reservation (complete program: civilweeek-vivere.it).
Sunday 11 May, the highlight. Starting from 4pm there will follow events that unite art, memory and music. It starts with the‘Inauguration of the permanent photographic exhibition “Here I am! Guido Harari for Casa Jannacci “. Fifteen portraits – destined to increase – donated by Harari to the structure. Intense shots that return visibility and dignity to the guests, with a clear intent: “These photographs are not simply looked at – explains the photographer – rather they will look at us, asking eternal questions to which our conscience is called to answer “.
The same protagonists of the portraits tell the moment when they revised in the shots: someone has recognized each other, others have discovered different, new. In the faces, a‘Age, a mystery, a memory. Their words accompany the exhibition and give voice to what the images evoke.
Next to the portraits, also a screen with the continuous projection of an unpublished documentary on the Jannacci house: interviews with guests, former guests, operators and institutions that tell the story and the profound meaning of this place.
Music that takes care, listening that welcomes
At 4.30 pm it opens the‘Audioteca for emotional refreshment, a space designed and wanted by Franco Mussida, founder of the Cpm Music Institute. Here music is not entertainment, but a care tool. Instrumental songs from all over the world, divided by states d‘soul, accessible via tablet with a‘Interface in ten languages. THE‘objective? Return balance, console, reorient l‘humor. “It’s a vitamin for l‘Soul – says Mussida – a gesture of peace, of affection, that speaks to everyone and does not exclude anyone “.
Next to Mussida, the godmother of this space: Ornella Vanoni.
From 17.30 to 19, l‘Audio library remains open to anyone who wants to live this experience firsthand (groups of 5 people every half‘Now, registration on site starting at 4pm).
