A few days ago, comedian and columnist Stéphane Guillon was the guest of Éric Dussart and Jade on their show We’re Redoing TV broadcast on RTL. On the airwaves, the man who is also an actor and author of several books revealed that he earned a lot of money at the height of his fame. But today, times have changed… And he had to revise his copy!
Stéphane Guillon has revised his lifestyle downwards: “I’m not unhappy about it at all.”
Invited to speak about his years on Canal + – a channel which is currently celebrating its forty years of existence -, Stéphane Guillon made no secrets. The one who made the greatest hours of Hello Earthlings! alongside Thierry Ardisson notably admitted to having won a lot of money. Before admitting that he no longer has access to the same amounts today. “The problem when you make a lot of money is that you also start spending a lot of it”he began. Before continuing: “And today, when I can really go for months without earning anything, I have adapted my lifestyle.”
Forced to reduce his lifestyle, this father of four children (born from two different unions) affirms: he is just as happy today. “I’m not at all unhappy about it. The important thing, well I’ll say something banal, is to be happy and in good health, the rest we don’t care”he declared.

Asked about the amounts he could earn in the heyday of Canal +, Stéphane Guillon confirmed that he sometimes received 10,000 euros per column. “Yes, it’s true, but at the same time, sorry, first of all I didn’t always earn 10,000 euros per column. Afterwards, on my column there were audience peaks of more than 2 million. So I brought a lot of people, a lot of advertising revenue, money to the chain”explained the television and theater man, now 60 years old.
“Afterwards we have the right to find it indecent, I understand that we find it indecent”he outbid. And it’s up to him to conclude, not without a touch of sarcasm: “I want to reassure the people who listen to us: I no longer earn these amounts. Not at all”. We imagine that he is not on minimum wage either.
