How many stories are hidden behind the faces of the men and women detained in prisons! Stories of pain, mistakes and failures, but often also of the desire for redemption, for a new life. A desire that becomes even more intense in those prisoners who are fathers and mothers, who have a child waiting for them beyond the bars, with the full right to a normal, serene, beautiful life. To support this yearning for redemption, on the occasion of the Jubilee of prisoners on December 14th, the San Paolo Group launches the “Words of hope” project, which allows all readers of the magazines to accompany the path of rebirth of these brothers and sisters with a concrete gesture.
This is a solidarity campaign that offers the opportunity to contribute to donate a subscription to Christian family to fathers and mothers who are currently in prison. A way to bring words of hope, stories of light, positive information attentive to values to people intent on leaving behind a tiring past to open up to a better future. A friendly company to make the path undertaken easier.
For each subscription activated, the Group will give away a subscription to The newspaper, the magazine dedicated to the little ones, so that inmate parents can share moments of play, storytelling and creativity with their children who go to visit them in the designated spaces inside the prison.
Finally, it will be possible to donate books by purchasing them in San Paolo bookstores.
Magazines and volumes donated by readers will be delivered by the San Paolo Group to penitentiary institutions with the collaboration of Bambini senza barre, association that has been defending the rights of the children of people in prison in nine Italian regions for over 20 years. Your gifts will arrive in the “yellow spaces”, that is, places that have been established to welcome children and family members waiting to enter the prisons to meet their detained father-husband or mother-wife.
