The European Commission is showing its satisfaction on the first anniversary of the implementation of the Digital Services Regulation. Applicable since 25 August 2023 for very large platforms – with more than 45 million active monthly users within the European Union – the DSA (Digital Services Act) has produced its first effects.
“After a year – even if much remains to be done, of course – we have already observed significant changes to restore confidence in the digital space, preserve the integrity of our democracies and protect our children online,” Internal Market Commissioner Thierry Breton told Les Echos.
