For people who have filed a paper declarationthe process is different. It is not possible to use the online correction service. When these rectifications “lead to a reduction in tax or the creation or increase of a tax credit, the administration may, if necessary, ask you for details and possibly refuse the requested correction», Specifies the Ministry of the Economy. Depending on your corrections, if the amount owed to the tax authorities is reduced and you have already paid the initial amount, you will benefit from a refund. Conversely, if a regularization is necessary and the amount of your tax increases, the new amount must be paid before a deadline indicated on the new notice.
