If you don’t have enough space to have a real tree, discover this resolutely decorative and trendy alternative without delay. You’re not going to come back from this!
There are 1001 reasons why some people don’t buy a tree for the holidays. Allergies, maintenance, ecology… Whether your apartment is too small to accommodate a real tree or you are looking for a more economical way to honor it in your home, this Do It Yourself will not fail to please you.
Among the alternatives to the traditional tree, you already know the endlessly reusable wooden trees, fabric trees too and Christmas tree-shaped lights, but there is one that seems to have escaped you. Fortunately, the reno, decoration and DIY influencer Nora Dumoulin, aka @noracontetout on social networks, offers you a turnkey solution to exploit your wall surface and create a tree more real than life, you’ll see!
With the help of a little material and elbow grease, you will be able to bring to life a garland wall tree to die for. Super easy to do, this great idea is the perfect tip if you are a tenant and you cannot, or do not prefer, to drill into your walls. Are you ready? Here we go! Start by dusting the surface that will accommodate your revisited Christmas tree, using a microfiber cloth and then attach hooks, creating a tree shape on the wall. Nora used 3M brand Command™ transparent adhesive hooks which have the advantage of not leaving marks. Second step: wedge the garland into the hooks, you will need four of three meters, then cut the excess if necessary. Third and final step: repeat the operation with a light garland starting at the top, as hers was shorter, Nora passed it through only every second hook.
Once the garland is lit and a few gifts added to its base, your tree seems to have always been there and it’s a perfect illusion, right?! And if you feel like it, why not give free rein to your creativity to further personalize your wall tree? Add light ornaments like paper stars, plastic Christmas baubles or even family photos to make it even more unique. Have fun and make your Christmas as festive as possible!
