It is a colossal and ambitious project worth nearly a billion euros, which is unlike any other. One thing is certain, this new theme park promises a completely new experience, just three hours from Paris.
With Disneyland Paris, Europa Park and PortAventura World, Europe has nothing to envy of other regions of the world when it comes to its amusement parks. However, we are still far from competing with the technological and commercial prowess of Chinese, Japanese or American parks, which are among the most visited in the world. And this is where a new titanic project, costing almost a billion euros, intends to establish itself: it aims to be “the first and largest” park in the world, in its category.
Because it is not a park like any other: at the height of modernity, it is an immense complex of 160 hectares, made up of six different zones, offering 40 attractions combining roller coasters, mazes, obstacle courses and parkour, or even immersive experiences, all imagined by the former creative director of Europa Park. But above all, it is its theme which stands out. Because yes, this new leisure center will be focused on… Dracula and all the folklore around vampires!

Named “Dracula Land”, the park will be located near Bucharest, the capital of Romania. A logical choice when we know that Bram Stoker was inspired by European legends and the Romanian Carpathian region for his famous novel Dracula. Vampires, bats, werewolves and other mythological creatures will be the stars of this new kind of complex, which promises unparalleled thrills to its visitors. The park will be divided into six districts: Dracula’s Castle will sit proudly there, surrounded by an area dedicated to Transylvania, but also by a “family kingdom”, a “moonlight district”, a reconstruction of London of the Victorian era, as well as a district in the image of New Orleans and its folklore around werewolves. But Dracula Land is much more than an amusement park: it is a new tourist destination with colossal ambitions, which go well beyond rollercoasters.
Indeed, there will also be a large water park with around thirty attractions and its own spa, a shopping center with luxury boutiques, a cutting-edge automobile circuit, a huge arena planned for concerts, e-sport competitions and other shows, a complex of three hotels, a business incubator and its technical center, and even a whole metaverse, a virtual world with its own cryptocurrency that it will be possible to use in the park…
The park’s official website announces an opening for 2027, although without a precise date, but no additional information is available on the progress of the construction work. It remains to be seen whether the project will be feasible in such a short time, or whether fans of vampire stories will have to be patient… Furthermore, Dracula Land hopes to welcome nearly three million visitors per year, but has not revealed an estimate as to the price of the future entry ticket.
