As soon as he can, Laurent Ruquier heads to Normandy to enjoy the great outdoors, he who owns a sublime manor. And in his home there is a decorative object that is disturbing to say the least. A purchase made under pressure…
Between Mask Singer on TF1, The Big Heads on RTL and At Ruquier on T18, host Laurent Ruquier has no time to be bored! So, between two shows, he heads straight to his Normandy mansion to take a breather and walk his dog on the beach (which he adopted with his ex-companion Hugo Manos). In his house, guests can discover a very special object.
Laurent Ruquier buys a funny object because of this well-known actor
In his show At Ruquierthe host recently paid tribute to the late actor, director and director, Robert Hossein. A man who had actively participated in his career in the theater. “I had the chance to cross paths with him, to meet him, to work with him because he was director of the Théâtre Marigny at that time and he took me a play ‘Landru’, played by Régis Laspalès and I have incredible memories of him”he first said.
“He was someone who was enthusiastic, he believed in it (…) And it’s because of him, because I often get asked the question: ‘But why did you buy Landru’s stove?’ Because I have Landru’s stove at home in the countryside!”, added the one who therefore owns a mansion as a second home by the beach, a property that he was able to afford thanks to his great fortune acquired over the years.
Why does Laurent Ruquier keep this morbid object in his living room?
Henri Désiré Landru, nicknamed the Bluebeard of Gambais, is in fact one of the best-known French serial killers of the early 20th century. He seduced women to recover their money before killing them and disposing of their bodies in a coal stove… Which Laurent Ruquier has in his living room today! “Everyone says to me, ‘But he’s sick, he likes serial killers, it’s something terrible’”quipped the main person concerned.
Before specifying: “But it’s because the theater was showing ‘Landru’, and then one day someone called me and said: ‘I’m in a flea market, there’s the real Landru stove for sale.'” And Robert said to me: ‘But buy it! We’re going to put it in the lobby of the theater, it’s great, it’ll bring people in.'”
This is how Laurent Ruquier, always comfortable spending his money, found himself with the infamous stove of a serial killer who murdered eleven people in his living room… “They didn’t keep him in Marigny, you can imagine! It’s all Robert Hossein.”
