K-pop is enriched by talent beyond the borders of South Korea, where it was born. One of its stars is the young Pranpriya Manobal, born in 1997 in a rural province of Thailand. She is better known as Lisa and has conquered the world with her girl group Blackpink.
A young girl from a good family since her mother remarried a Swiss expatriate chef, Lisa moved to Bangkok where she attended an English-speaking school. Passionate about American rap, she trained very early in hip-hop dance and ballet. At 13 she took part in an audition organized by the Korean K-pop producers YG Entertainment.

She was the lucky and only winner of the competition in Bangkok and a year later, in the early 2010s, she joined the YG Entertainment boarding school in Seoul. Joining the hundreds of young stars in the making in this incubator with very strict regulations. On the program: dance, singing, sports, media management classes combined with psychological support.
Having become a global idol, the talented Lisa has acquired phenomenal weight in the cultural, economic and media fields. She arouses the admiration of the American Beyoncé as much as she admires her elder in return. She is now one of the ambassadors of the LVMH brand (owner of “Les Echos”) and continues to win fans around the world with her girl band Blackpink formed during her difficult years spent in the merciless K-pop stable.
