Whether you’re looking to locate your stolen phone or find out where a specific person is, this clever method is foolproof. The only condition? Send a photo to the wanted smartphone.
Here’s a tip that should interest the most curious among you: it is possible to locate a person in real time by sending a simple photo from your phone. No special configuration is necessary, this method works with all smartphones.
On Instagram, the influencer known as Monsieur Astuces shared the trick. His post got a reaction from more than 5,000 Internet users, as evidenced by the many likes and comments. He explains that you just need to search for an image on Google with your smartphone. It doesn’t matter which image you choose, but the funnier it is, the more likely you are that the process will work. Once the photo is selected, copy its URL and go to the IP Logger website. Paste the image URL into the dedicated search bar on IP Logger, then click on “Create a shortlink”. A new link will appear, in red. This is the link you will need to send to the person you want to locate.
The goal is to get that person to click on the link. In Mr. Tips’ example, he asks his fiancée to look at the funny picture he found. Once she clicks and views the picture, all you have to do is go back to the IP Logger page where the link was, and check the “Visitors” section at the bottom of the page.
You will then get information about the country and region where the person is located, without them suspecting anything. While some may have doubts about what their spouse says, this can also be a good way to locate a stolen smartphone.
