Before becoming the successful actress we know in the series Astrid and RaphaëlleLola Dewaere worked in a completely different profession, in which she herself admits to having excelled.

Due to a combination of circumstances, the daughter of the late actor Patrick Dewaere had to temporarily put her acting career on hold. “I was the victim of a very serious road accident which left me badly damaged. I thought then that my acting career was over before it began“, she confided in Les Echos.
It was then that she turned to a profession far removed from the sets of television series. “Once recovered, I found a job as a receptionist, then as an executive assistant in real estate…“, she remembered. But if today she devotes herself fully to comedy, she admits to having had a certain talent in this former work. “I could have continued there who knows, I had the chat“, she explained.

Her arrival in comedy and acting happened in a flash, largely thanks to the show One day, one destiny presented by Laurent Delahousse. The legendary presenter of the France 2 news devoted an episode to the actress’s father and called on her for the occasion. At the end of the show, a remark changed the course of his life. “His cinematographer told me that I took the light well and that I should be an actress, I don’t know if he really meant it, but that was the trigger“, she said, recalling this anecdote which relaunched her vocation.
But before all that, Lola Dewaere’s journey was strewn with pitfalls: “When I was little, I wanted to draw, I dreamed of entering the Angoulême comics school. But I was terrible at school, I didn’t even get my high school diploma!“. She then clarified that she had had other academic difficulties: “I was directed towards a BEP in accounting but even there I couldn’t do it!“. She finally found her way…
