There are only one in a multitude of colors, there are only one that you should choose for the maintenance of the house. And this is probably not the one you believe.
We no longer present it so much it is the ally of many household chores in the house: the Marseille soap is a staple of the cupboard. It cleanses, degreases, detaches and disinfects naturally. It is used grated or diluted to make your home laundry, make the floors shine, wash the dishes, clean the surfaces, detach the clothes or even make traces disappear on the carpets, sofas or shoes. Soft but formidably effective, it is also an excellent soap to clean the brushes, degrease the cooking plates or even keep the mites away in the cupboards. But for it to be really effective, you still have to choose the right color.
On the shelf, it is found in green, white or even fantasy color and it is no coincidence. Not all have the same composition and therefore do not have the same characteristics. One in particular is much more effective when it comes to cleaning the house, so you shouldn’t make a mistake. And it is not necessarily the one we think that you have to use. You should know that green soap is the most traditional because it is made from olive oil. It is therefore natural and very soft for the skin, just like slightly yellow soap which is sometimes enriched with honey and milk. But for the maintenance of the house, the best choice is white Marseille soap. For what ? Simply because it is made from copra oil or palm oil, vegetable oils naturally more degreasing than olive oil. Result: a much more effective white soap for cleaning, shining, disincuring and eliminating stubborn spots. This is the one used by the cleaning pros, the one who foams well and who does not leave a greasy film. It is the perfect ally for the whole house.
Be careful, however, not to confuse white soap and fragrant or colorful soap that is sometimes found in supermarkets. These fancy versions, often full of additives and perfumes, have much to do with the real Marseille soap. The ideal is to find the mention “Marseille soap” accompanied by “72 % of oil”. The list of ingredients should be ultra-short: vegetable oil (s), soda, water and salt. Nothing more. Finally, beware of flashy colors or artificial scents: the real Marseille soap is raw and simple.
