For some time now the messages on the 25th of each month that are given to the visionary Marja in Medjugorje have had ecclesiastical approval, and this is certainly a great joy for those who know and follow her events. Why do we never hear a word about these apparitions in the homilies? Yet, it now seems to me to be recognized by everyone as a place of grace and conversion.

A 2024 document from the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith on Medjugorje (in the photo the church of the Bosnian village) definitively took a position on the apparitions. He did not speak out in favor of their supernaturalness, but he acknowledged “abundant spiritual fruits” linked to devotion to the Queen of Peace.
The text expresses an overall positive opinion on the messages and allows the faithful to participate in the devotion, even without obligation to believe in the apparitions. Devotion, therefore, is left to the free adhesion of individual people. Likewise the possibility for a priest to talk about it during the homily.
