Monroe is preparing to represent France at Eurovision with her song “Regarde!”. But to achieve her goal, the young singer imposed several restrictions on herself…
The countdown has started until the Eurovision grand final which will be held this May 16 in Vienna, Austria. And it is the 17-year-old opera singer, Monroe, who is preparing to represent France with her title Look at !. To prepare for this major competition, the Franco-American imposed some restrictions on herself…
Monroe: what she had to stop to prepare for Eurovision
To be in the best possible shape, singer Monroe makes sure to maintain a healthy lifestyle and therefore denies herself some small pleasures. “I’m stopping McDonald’s, I’m restricting myself to vegetables and proteins“, she notably confided to TV Magazine. A routine that is not always easy for teenagers to follow: “It’s horrible but I try. And I play sports. I’m basically running while singing and trying to sleep well“.
In addition to wearing the colors of France at Eurovision, Monroe is also continuing her school career. “I homeschool alongside music. I have online courses“, she explained before revealing one of her dearest wishes: “I would like to join the Paris Conservatory one day“. A visibly busy schedule for the young girl who already released a first self-titled album last fall and even toured churches and cathedrals.
Does Monroe have her chances at Eurovision?
Will the lyrical singer succeed the Austrian JJ and his song Wasted Lovewho won Eurovision last year? If the representative of France was placed among the candidates favored by the bookmakers for several weeks, she recently lost a few places in this ranking. For some time, Monroe was in second place behind the bookmakers’ big winners, Finns Linda Lampenius and Pete Parkkonen and their title Liekinheitin.
But now, Monroe finds herself in fifth place, behind Australia, Denmark, Greece, and Finland, which is still at the top of the rankings. Other statistics indicate that Germany and Bulgaria would also have a chance. Will the representative of France obtain a better score than Louane, who finished seventh last year?
