Marlboro, Lucky Strike, Vogue… Here are the new prices for cigarette packs in 2025.
The price of cigarettes is increasing regularly in France. Often in January, March or September. Now, the majority of cigarette packets (Lucky Strike, Rothmans, Vogue, Pall Malls or Winfield…) cost more than 12 euros and are even close to 13 euros (or even 14 euros for the Dunhill brand). These increases are intended to dissuade the French from smoking. Further increases will occur during 2025 and 2026.
Here is the price of cigarettes by brand in 2025
In France, a pack of cigarettes today costs between 12 and 13 euros, 12.50 euros on average. These are tobacco manufacturers (tobacco companies) who set the selling prices of their packages taking into account changes in taxes levied by the state (which represent around 80% of the price of the pack of cigarettes). They can pass on the increase in these taxes, which increases the price of the package, or reduce their margins in order to gain market share, which causes the sale price to stagnate or fall. The prices are then approved jointly by the Ministry of Solidarity and Health and the Ministry of Action and Public Accounts. On December 10, 2024, French Customs published the prices for packs of cigarettes sold in France for 2025:
Brand (pack of 20 cigarettes) | Price as of January 1, 2025 |
---|---|
Dunhill Blue | 13.20 euros |
Marlboro Red | 13 euros |
Camel without filter | 12.50 euros |

Winfield red | 12.50 euros |
Winston Classic | 12.50 euros |
