With autumn, the problem of fogging up windows and mirrors is back! To remedy this, Action offers an easy-to-use product that costs only 99 cents.
It’s always the same, as soon as you take a hot shower, your mirrors and windows become covered in condensation and hello humidity throughout the bathroom. In autumn, mist forms more easily in the bathroom for two reasons. First, the ambient air is cooler, which makes mirrors and windows naturally colder, so when water vapor from the hot shower comes into contact with these surfaces, condensation is more intense. Then, the general humidity of the air increases in this season, especially on rainy days. With more vapor in the air, there is a greater chance of it settling on cold surfaces. As a result, it’s difficult to see yourself in the mirror after a shower! But this is not inevitable…
To solve the problem of fogging in the bathroom, Action store regulars did not hesitate to divert an ingenious product that they found in the car section. Designed for windshields, the anti-fog sponge from the Valma brand was tested on a bathroom mirror by @Picasiette.testeur on Instagram. Before using the famous sponge, the tips specialist took care to clean his mirror with glass product and a squeegee. It also dried the surface well. He then passes the sponge over the mirror from top to bottom. To better understand the effectiveness of the product, he chose to only apply it to half of the mirror. After 15 minutes of showering, the result is clear: the sponge prevented the mist from settling on the treated part of the mirror.
Other Internet users who have tested the product nevertheless warn users. The sponge would leave a slight greasy film on the surface and this is not to everyone’s taste. In cars, this would be particularly difficult to clean. Other users specify that the effect does not last over time and that the application will have to be repeated every 3 or 4 showers.
Finally, know that there is also a homemade solution if you can’t find the famous sponge in your store. You can use a solid soap and then rub it on the mirror or the window. Then wipe gently with a dry cloth to distribute the product without leaving marks. This technique creates a thin protective layer that prevents condensation from clinging.
