Isabelle Ithurburu spoke openly about her relationship with sport, which she has only been practicing for around ten years. We tell you more.
Isabelle Ithurburu has established herself as an essential face of French television. Today at the helm of 50′ Inside, She evolved for years in a completely different register by presenting numerous sports programs. A universe in which she knew how to shine… And yet, sport was never really her thing!
It was finally quite late, at the age of 30, that Isabelle Ithurburu started practicing sporting activity on a regular basis. A confession she made during an interview with the show The VIP Lounge on beIN Sports. The host admits to not having been sporty when she was younger: “I can’t say that I’m a great sportswoman, I’m a couch potato”she confided with humor. Before explaining that her relationship to sport was above all that of an avid spectator: “When I started on Infosport, it was a channel that I watched a lot. I liked watching sport, I didn’t do much of it and I got into it over the last ten years.”
Since then, things have changed a lot. Isabelle Ithurburu now goes regularly to the gym, where she does a variety of sessions accompanied by a coach. A practice motivated by the desire to age well: “By force of circumstances, I got into it because I had to build muscle”before continuing with a smile to the host Claire Arnoux: “I’ve been doing it over the last ten years to get in shape, to have less back pain when it’s cold or when it rains.”
The one who shares Maxime Nucci’s life did not completely discover sport late in life. In reality, Isabelle Ithurburu practiced it for many years in her youth, from the age of 6 to 22, through Basque folk dance.
“I often forget to say that it’s still a sport”she recognizes today with a touch of self-deprecation.
