Spotted at Oslo airport, Erling Braut Haaland surprised everyone with a French collector’s item estimated at several tens of thousands of euros.
Between footballers and fashion, it’s a great love story. If the arrivals of the Blues at Clairefontaine are always widely commented on in the press, it is this time towards a Nordic country that eyes are turning. Indeed, football star Erling Braut Haaland was photographed at Oslo airport as he was preparing to fly to the United States to play in the World Cup. And one detail didn’t escape anyone: her ultra-luxurious accessory on her arm.
For this long journey to American soil, the Manchester City player opted for an exceptional piece by Hermès. He was thus displayed with the legendary HAC Birkin 50 “Endless Road” bag, one of the largest models of the French luxury house with its 50 centimeters wide. This ultra-rare edition, produced in a very limited series, was originally an exclusive reserved for the Hermès boutique in Las Vegas. On the design side, the bag is made of ecru leather on which pieces of colored leather come together to draw a real landscape: a road lit by car headlights with mountains in the background, which gives full meaning to the name “Endless Road”. A masterpiece of leatherwork, as gigantic as its price.
Released in 2018/2019, this highly sought-after model is now trading on the second-hand market for the tidy sum of $45,500, or just under 40,000 euros.
But money is not everything: to succeed in obtaining such a piece, the footballer, a fashion fan, had to be patient by registering on a long waiting list and proving his loyalty to the house of Hermès, which does not sell its treasures to just anyone. A taste for luxury that Erling Braut Haaland shares with his partner, with whom he has an incredible collection of Hermès bags.
