A week in the snow in the name of inclusion and fun: from 1 to 8 February 2025, the town of Uzza, in Valfurva, hosted the fourth edition of the Winter Camp Real Eyes Sport. An appointment awaited by many families, designed to bring children and teenagers closer to visual disabilities for winter sports and the mountains, showing that skiing and many other outdoor activities can really be for everyone.
A rich program between sport, adventure and sociality
To frame the event was the Alpine scenario of Santa Caterina Valfurva, with its plants and its perfect slopes for baptism on alpine and Nordic skiing. Next to skiing, the participants Hannoputo try their hand at many activities: ice climbing, snowshoeing, skating, swimming pool and playful moments, all organized thanks to the precious work of the operators and volunteers of Real Eyes Sport. The Camp had its heart in the La Montanara retirement, which hosted families and boys for a sports and sharing experience.
A concrete commitment for inclusion in sport
For Real Eyes Sport, founded and presided over by Paralympic multiple champion Daniele Cassioli, who is also honorary president of Piramis Onlus, the start of young people with visual disabilities for skiing is a mission: “The association is becoming a firm point for many families and We are very happy. Our camps are always very participated, a sign that there is a need for opportunities for this type. Sport should be a right for everyone, yet for a blind boy or visually impaired, access to physical activity is still anything but obvious. For this we want to do more and more », explains Cassioli.
The event obtained the patronage of the Italian Paralympic Committee and was confirmed international thanks to the participation of a French family. In addition, the Winter Camp Real Eyes Sport 2025 He received the support of Snowit and the Santa Caterina area: the first provided the ski pass and the rental of ski equipment to children’s accompanying persons, while the area offered free ski pass to the small participants.
An important signal that confirms how, thanks to the commitment of associations and the sensitivity of those who believe in inclusive sport, the right to play and physical activity can become a reality for everyone.
