Your wardrobe or dressing room looks like a shop during the first day of the sales? Basic tips for having a nickel dressing room and clothes that are always well folded and tidy.
3 reasons to organize your dressing room or your wardrobe well
Clothes stored in poor conditions are damaged faster. Thus, if you keep your outfits on metal hangers, you will quickly realize that the hanging brand remains on the shoulders of your pretty jacket. Likewise, it is a shame to buy t-shirts if it is to store them in a ball and wear them fripped or worse, having to iron them at full speed in the morning before leaving.
On the other hand, there is nothing more stressful in the morning than to rummage in his wardrobe, eyes riveted on the watch, feet tangled in tights because we no longer find the brilliant little pink top which goes so well with its favorite skirt. If your dressing room is well organized, dressing you are done in the blink of an eye.
Finally, unless you have a room dedicated to the dressing room, the place is often limited. Suddenly, an intelligently compartmentalized dressing room saves space.
How to organize your dressing room?
Start by inspiring yourself from the Konmari method by operating a great sorting: what is gratus, is no longer your size, is too damaged, has gone too much fashion or what does not highlight you (cut, shape, color) must leave your wardrobe. Once sorting is done, make up A stack of folding clothes : They will go to shelves. Gather them by type. For example: short-sleeved t-shirts, sweatshirts, fine sweaters, winter sweaters … The rule is that we do not superimpose No more than 5 clothes folded per battery.
Then do A stack of hanging clothes : They will need good quality hangers. If you can, hang only on a clothing per semicrait. Also try that the pants are hanged by the hem, it limits ironing … The tailors can be hung on a mixed hanger. Classify them by size, from the longest to the shortest. Under the shortest clothes, still place drawers or shelves to save space. If your wardrobe is 60 or 65 cm deep, the standard size is perfect for hangers but you lose space at the bottom if you put folded t-shirts there. Also, use the background to store clothes out of season.
Other advice: Prepare your outfit the night before evening. It is annoying to realize when leaving that this pants do not go with this top and that the only panties we have left for marks under the pants in question: enough to spend a bad morning!
Finally, in the event of a dressing or cabinet sharing, everyone should have their space, even if it is in a single wardrobe. You can use boxes or baskets for everyone, to delimit the space on the shelves. And be sure not to mix your hanging clothes.
The organization and storage of accessories
- Seasonal accessories such as losses, gloves and swimwear can be stored in the bottom of the cabinet or dressing room.
- The socks will be stored in a drawer by use (sport/more dressed/winter). The tights too, according to the same criteria.
- The underwear is to be stored by set if you always wear the bra together and the panties, or, on the contrary, the ups on one side, the stockings on the other, always to avoid wasting time during the search.
- Handbags find their place on a shelf if possible, empty, after a good sorting.
- The little leather goods puts itself in a drawer.
- The jewelry is stored as you see fit: well in view of nails, in pretty boxes … but not in bulk because otherwise they get tangled and damage.
- Women’s shoes require a depth of 35 cm generally. So if you store them at the bottom of your wardrobe, think of the seasons, again. Needless to say, you will put your shoes every night in their box. So keep a few boxes, but not all. In addition, a sorting is always welcome before organizing space: there is no reason to keep a pair of shoes that hurts us …
