Bambole di Pezza is an all-female rock band, the first to perform at the Sanremo Festival. The group’s recording career includes four albums and several singles which have contributed to consolidating a recognizable sound and visual imagery. Recurring themes are the fight against violence and the defense of equal opportunities, gender equality and the fight against sexism. Their music is pure energy, especially live: an experience that overwhelms, involves and creates an immediate connection with the public. The group was born on the initiative of guitarist Morgana, in 2002 they signed to Tube Records, with which they released their first album Crash Me. In total they released 4 albums. However, it is on stage that the Rag Dolls express their most authentic nature: hundreds of concerts throughout Italy, of which we remember the stage shared with Sex Pistols and Editors at the AMA Festival. They participated in the May Day Concert in Rome and an intense summer tour. The Rag Dolls participated in nbel m2006 as guest stars in the episode The day of the wolf of the television series Inspector Coliandro, playing the part of the band in which Nikita, the protagonist of the episode, plays and playing the song Le witch.
Here in Sanremo they presented themselves in the press room to talk about themselves and their song tall five current components: Martina “Cleo” Ungarelli – vocals; Lisa “Morgana Blue” Cerri – lead guitar; Daniela “Dani” Piccirillo – rhythm guitar and backing vocals; Federica “Xina” Rossi – drums and backing vocals; Caterina Alessandra “Kaj” Dolci, bass and backing vocals.

«This song was born from a deep desire to be able to create something that was a new message for us, a different message than the one we had always brought. And finally we managed to find a union of all these 5 rag dolls in a single song that talks about sisterhood, a theme that we absolutely wanted to bring to the public and in particular to the Sanremo Festival. The rag dolls are joined by a thread, just like handcrafted dolls, made with care, with raw material, and a lot of heart. And we also do this with the songs, we try to stitch together every musical instrument, without software, with the original instruments, the guitar, the drums, the bass. in short, something that unfortunately is a little rarer these days, but we want to carry on. then on stage, as always happens at our concerts, that slightly more visceral, more rock part is brought out compared to the records. To those who accuse them of losing their rock and transgressive soul by performing at the Ariston they reply: «On this stage we will also bring the representation of many Italian bands who also perform alternative genres, non-mainstream and who go around, playing in improvised stages, small venues where live music is still played. Unfortunately, many fewer since after Covid. There are no longer many meeting places for young people, as there was a long time ago, when there was a cultural ferment and many opportunities to listen to live music. So we will also go on that stage to represent all the underdogs or truly alternative bands on the Italian scene. And no, we will not lose our rock soul.”
Very curious to see and listen to their cover, Cat’s eyes with an icon of cartoon music, Cristina D’Avena. Of this they say: «We rearranged it obviously maintaining the playful nature because it’s also nice to remember your childhood and how happy and carefree we were, so the game remained the same but we made it a little more pop punk, with a surprise that you will see during the performance” .
