Evening snacking is one of the main obstacles to weight loss. To avoid repeated deviations, a dietician offers a satiating alternative ready in two minutes in the microwave.
When we’re trying to lose weight, it’s often the small food intake at the end of the day that derails our efforts. After dinner, the craving for sugar sets in and portions easily exceed actual needs. On Instagram, dietitian Emma Filoche, known as @emmafitnessgoal, offers a concrete solution for “stop hunger once and for all”.
In a video associated with her post, she speaks directly to those who struggle with these repeated urges: “Stop fighting your sugar cravings in the evening, do this instead. My individual banana bread, 2 minutes in the microwave, zero butter and zero added sugar. It’s rich in fiber and good fats, perfect for stabilizing your blood sugar and stopping your hunger. And I must say that it’s super good too.” So his approach is not to eliminate all snacking, but to structure it so that it supports satiety instead of maintaining the hunger-compulsion-guilt cycle.
In terms of weight loss, the central issue remains appetite management. Too little intake during the day can accentuate sweet cravings in the evening. If we respond with products rich in fast sugars, blood sugar levels rise quickly and then fall again, which reignites the desire to eat. Ultimately, these additional intakes make weight loss more difficult. The interest of this express banana bread lies precisely in its composition. The egg provides protein, essential for satiety. Oatmeal slows the absorption of carbohydrates. Almond powder prolongs the feeling of fullness. In short, the whole thing forms a snack that is more nutritionally dense than an industrial biscuit, with a more moderate impact on blood sugar levels.
Another key point for a slimming goal: portion control. The individual format limits the risk of refilling. Rather than cutting an approximate slice from a family cake, we prepare a defined portion, suitable for a snack. The absence of butter and added sugar also reduces the calorie load compared to a classic banana bread recipe. To summarize, it is not a “miracle” food that would help you lose weight on its own, but a tool to avoid unnecessary intake at the end of the day and better manage your overall energy balance.
The recipe shared by the dietician includes a ripe banana, an egg, 35 grams of low glycemic index oat flour, 15 grams of almond powder, half a teaspoon of baking powder and two squares of dark chocolate. The banana is mashed then mixed with the egg and dry ingredients before adding the chocolate. The preparation cooks for 2 minutes 30 in the microwave.
Note that when hunger arrives, waiting too long encourages impulsive choices. This is why being able to prepare a hot dessert in two minutes is a game changer and allows you to stay aligned with your goal. For those who prefer the oven, cooking for around 15 minutes at 180°C is possible, but the microwave remains the quickest option.
