Which investments should be favored in 2026? Guest on the Europe Matin show on Europe 1 this Thursday, January 15, our expert gave the keys to making your money grow, as best as possible. Life insurance, crypto, gold… At the start of the year, certain investments are doing well, according to him.
Life insurance: an investment with good returns
For Jean-Jacques Manceau, the French must return to life insurance, particularly euro funds, which are secure investments. For what ? For their performance which is proving to be more and more efficient. “This year, funds in euros will yield between 2.5 and 4.5%, for the best contracts”according to him. “This investment is interesting because it allows you to invest your money safely, without risk, with lower taxes, and to make it grow well.” Life insurance contracts also allow you to invest in units of account, which are riskier investments because “they will go to the stock market or be invested in real estate”. For him, “the life insurance tool must really be the heart of the French people’s heritage”.
Gold: a profitable investment?
2025, a golden year? For Jean-Jacques Manceau, the answer is positive. “Many geopolitical and economic elements have made the value of gold become very attractive”. He advises placing part of your savings there “to secure and possibly pass on to one’s heirs”. However, the journalist tempers the return on this investment: “gold does not earn interest”. “If we have a little luck between the purchase and the resale, there is a small capital gain which is taxed a little.” This type of investment must therefore remain, according to him, a “minimal part” heritage.
Real estate: “an interesting investment window”
The journalist also recommends betting on real estate, seen as “an interesting investment window”. This investment can be made either “in direct real estate, or in real estate, that is to say dematerialized real estate through real estate investment companies (SCPI)”. In the latter case, the investments are “relatively secure” And “bring in rent”that is to say that the accommodations – generally offices – are “managed by professionals and, in exchange, the rents are paid to the people who carry its shares“. For him, good SCPIs can pay “between 5% to 7% rent per year”but be careful, these amounts remain “taxed”.
The stock market: a risky investment, but which allows you to diversify
Jean-Jacques Manceau also advises putting part of these investments in the stock market, to boost your savings. “In the long term, stocks always yield more than other investments”. The journalist recommends “place on the stock market through funds orETFsi.e. trackers that follow clues”. For him, “we can invest in the stock market with the promise of making between 7 and 10% per year over the very long term”. Be careful, however, this type of investment presents risks. He therefore advises against it for retirees.
Bitcoin: a value soon to rise?
Bitcoin is today “around $85,000,” is it still interesting? “We can estimate that it will perhaps go back to around $100,000”he continued. Should we then go ahead with this investment? “Why not», says the journalist who emphasizes that above all, it is the “diversification that counts”. He therefore advises moderation and if you wish, to “invest a small part of their assets in values which can increase sharply, but which can also decline very sharply over several years”.
