Nothing about Sanremo is thrown away. Once the feast of songs and controversies is over, the music celebration continues even after the final. And so, tonight the event starts again on television in the name of tradition with Sanremo Top, a historic format created by Pippo Baudo.
On 7 and 14 March, on the two Saturdays following the Sanremo 2026 final, two special events will be broadcast live from the Fabrizio Frizzi television studios in Rome, hosted by Carlo Conti.
The 2026 Festival, dedicated precisely to Pippo Baudo, thus recovers another “Baudian” piece and brings him back to the center of the television scene: Sanremo Top returns, the historic “post Festival” which between the 90s and the early 2000s, about a month before the event, took stock of the success of the songs through CD sales.
Today the mechanism changes, but the spirit remains the same: instead of the records sold, the FIMI and EarOne Airplay Radio charts will be commented on, photographing the popularity of the songs exactly one week after the end of the Festival.
All 30 Big names competing and the two finalists of the Nuove Proposte, distributed over the two evenings, will be present in the studio, who will return to perform with the song presented on the Ariston stage.
Alongside the singers there will also be the traveling companions who accompanied Carlo Contduring the event: Nicola Savino, the “Charlie’s Angels” of the Prima Festival – Ema Stokholma, Manola Moslehi and Carolina Rey -, the protagonist of the Suzuki Stage Daniele Battaglia and the host of Sanremo Giovani Gianluca Gazzoli. Together they will comment on the rankings, tell background stories and anecdotes and ask questions to the artists.
To complete the parterre there will be Nino Frassica who, with his unmistakable ironywill try to bring some of the spirit of his “FestiVallo” to the two evenings of Sanremo Top.
