Armed with his legendary outspokenness, Patrick Sébastien made some revelations about the Enfoirés troupe. And the least we can say is that they have something to question…
Guest on Sud Radio this Tuesday, October 29, Patrick Sébastien did not hesitate for a single second to speak on all the subjects discussed by his hosts, Valérie Expert and Gilles Ganzmann. It must be said that the 70-year-old host and singer has so little of his tongue in his pocket that the opposite would have surprised us…
“There are plenty of guys who left for that” : what Patrick Sébastien criticizes Les Enfoirés
The former loyal gentleman of Largest cabaret in the world spoke about Les Enfoirés, the troupe founded by his friend Coluche in 1985, which every year raises funds for the Restos du Coeur by organizing a series of exceptional concerts subsequently broadcast on TF1. The artist notably recounted that he had introduced Jacques Chirac, then mayor of Paris, to the late comedian so that his troupe could have access to subsidies.
As he himself recalled, he also participated in the famous show in 1992. But this experience obviously left him with more than just good memories… “I was there at the beginning with Michel (Colucci, Coluche’s real name, editor’s note), I helped him at the beginning. I did Les Enfoirés once, and then at the end of the concert, someone came came to see me and said: ‘Are you coming to the banquet afterwards?'”, he first said. Before continuing, not without frankness: “I told him that I’m not coming to sing for hungry people and go to the banquet afterwards! I’m going to treat myself to a restaurant nearby! That’s it…”. And to continue, still in his familiar tone: “And there are plenty of guys who left Les Enfoirés for that”.
“It shouldn’t exist.” : Patrick Sébastien’s great regret about Les Enfoirés
On the other hand, make no mistake: far from him the desire to destroy this troop whose existence he continues to salute and which now works collectively since Jean-Jacques Goldman took a step back as band leader. “The most important thing is that it brings wheat to those who are hungry. On the other hand, today, I think that Michel would not be happy to see that it still exists”declared Patrick Sébastien.
Before concluding: “It shouldn’t exist, the Bastards. It’s a blessing that it exists, of course, but when you see all the waste there was… The Olympics ceremony cost 100 million, and London 30 million I think with the difference we could have fed people for a very long time..
