Where does Bénabar live? The singer and his wife set down their suitcases in a house in the sun, in the South of France. They have the luxury of living in the village voted as the “most beautiful in the world”.
While he will unveil a brand new studio album next January, The sun of the absent, Bénabar opened the doors of his “corner of paradise” to Carole Gaessler for the show My South Side. At 56, the artist found his refuge, into which he took his wife and children. And it’s not in his native region, Val-de-Marne.

With his wife, Stéphanie, and their two children Manolo and Ludmilla, they bought a house in Gordes, “most beautiful village in the world” according to the prestigious American magazine Travel + Leisure. “The village where I am lucky enough to live, not quite all year round, but not far”he says in the show. And it’s up to him to explain: “For nature, for the light, for the buildings, for everything that is here, for the Gordians also in particular”.
Not a little proud to lead his guest through the streets of his village, Bruno Nicolini, his real name, then presents his house: a very beautiful stone residence, typical of the South of France, littered with olive trees, one of which was given to the singer by his friends for his 50th birthday. A property that Benabar had already described as “a true crossroads of friendship” in the columns of Provence.

More than a place of residence, this house is also a source of inspiration for the artist. He has a home studio and several dozen instruments. His next album was largely constructed in this residence. “He really has a Gordian aspect”confesses the main person concerned who has definitely found his adopted land.
